Meet Lammis Vargas
I am running for re-election to the Rhode Island State Senate because the residents of District 28 (Cranston and Providence) deserve continued strong, progressive leadership and a dedicated advocate who will keep fighting for affordable housing, quality healthcare, public safety, juvenile justice reform, public transportation, environmental protection, and educational opportunity.
As a lifelong Rhode Islander and committed public servant, I have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the people I represent. In the Senate, I proudly serve as Secretary of the Senate Committee on Environment and Agriculture, member of the Labor and Gaming, Finance, and Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies Committees, as well as the Act on Climate Commission, where I work to advance policies that protect our environment, strengthen our workforce, promote fiscal responsibility, and prepare Rhode Island for the opportunities of tomorrow.
I remain focused on advancing policies that strengthen our communities, expand opportunity, and enhance the quality of life for all residents. I am seeking re-election to continue delivering results, addressing the challenges facing our state, and building a stronger, more equitable future for District 28 and all Rhode Islanders.
Listening to the Needs of the Community
I have served on Cranston City Council for 6 years, and for a time as its Vice President. I have experience as a civil servant in multiple state and municipal agencies. But most importantly, I am a friend, neighbor, and family member to many of my constituents. I not only understand the issues our community faces, but also know how to bring about change.
